About Us

This program was the product of two expats wanting to give back to the community.  Daniel Park and Mike Ra (respectively from Canada and the U.S.) after having lived in Korea for six or so years, remembered how it felt to feel estranged in Korea upon first arriving.  Without a practical knowledge daily chores such as opening a bank account, paying bills and even ordering food proved to be beyond them.  Now, much more settled in Korea, they put their heads together in efforts to make other expats' experiences much more pleasant.  They joined with like-minded teachers to form an enthusiastic staff to serve you.

PCL Korean Language and Culture is sponsored by the English Ministry of Presbyterian Church of the Lord in Jamsil, Seoul, and is operated by donations from church members.  Our teachers are volunteers, who give of their time and energy because they care.  We hope to be one of the ways in which you get more connected to the true heart of Korea.  We look forward to meeting you!
